PHR-99 REVERSE MOUTH w/ BRIAN OSBORNE - Jacko Blues C60 Recorded in Brooklyn, New York in 2009, the day Michael Jackson died, Reverse Mouth shreds along w/ free-form percussionist and long time bro, Brian Osborne (Heat Retention Records, member of Blastocyst, George Steeltoe Ensemble and The Gate Trio w/ Dan Peck, among others). Somewhere between Harry Pussy, cripple prog, punk ra + nihilism, this is a fine example of no future basement noise. |

PHR-98 BIG CITY ORCHESTRA - Screaming Meeme CDR New installment by the veteran, surprising supergroup, filled w/ avant chants and lynchian drones. An esoteric thesis on silent screaming and growing isolation through an eroded –but detailed– magnifying glass. The staff on this release was Ninah Pixie, Cliff Neighbors, Rosie Langabeer, Jonathan Segel, Univac, Daevid Allen, Melissa Margolis and Das.

PHR-97 DEAD GUM - Bootlegum C60 For hardcore fans only and in the tradition of the bootleg releases that most of us used to listen to when we were young and so on, Dead Gum pays tribute to all those audience recordings which don't sound right. The release is consisted of live recordings captured w/ a distorted, modulated belt mini-amp instead of a microphone and played as clean as could get through-out. As a result, the material itself is been hidden through several layers of noise, unpolished, transmitted through another dimension. Edition of 50 handmade cassettes (see below):

PHR-96 NEDERLAGET - To Feil Er Bedre Enn En Rett C20 New superstar death-duo by the northern sound assassins Sindre Bjerga & Lasse Marhaug. Their first proper release (so proper that has been "recorded at the best studio in Oslo", as stated in the release credits) contains 20 minutes of freezing cold electronic (non) music, which hardly restrains from exploding in your face in the most brutal way you could imagine. It is, indeed, a fine balancing act of accurate controlled power cut-ups from hands who don't need to prove anything or, at the very most, raise the middle finger. Bravely. |

PHR-95 (co-released w/ Πτώματα κάτω απ' το Κρέβατι & Mafia) PHIL MINTON & DYLAN NYOUKIS - Live in Athens 1-sided LP "it was in dhalgren that i had read about a father getting fired, and who trying not to depress his family about it, wakes up every day, shaves, dresses himself up, has breakfast and leaves for his "work". where does his spent his almost 8 to 10 hours? a mystery. perhaps crying on a park's bench or drinking or whatever. however, there are times when reality creates even more dystopian images than those in sam delaney's aforementioned opus... it was through such events that our interest in the human voice was brought again forward, and it was upon a discussion on the instruments that we might fancy to hear after the quake of our mechanized world, that we decided on the human voice. it was something that evolved naturally, as since the depression's outbreak, little by little we've started digging recordings of the human voice (voice as the original instrument to quote joan la barbara's classic recording). so when the idea of setting up a live set focused only on the human voice came up, the names of phil minton and dylan nyoukis were thrown on the table immediately and without hesitation we invited them for what turned out to be one the most physical and vital live sets we had set up for a looong time. a set of vocal pirouettes and juxtapositions between dylan and phil which send us flying for almost half an hour that night at the basement of knot gallery and once again fueled our enthusiasm for adventure and quest. besides this, it turned into a great opportunity for 3 fellow conceptualists (ourselves) to collaborate on something they fancied and out of their enthusiasm this document is being released." Nicolas Malevitsis, October 2012 |

PHR-94 FLESH CANDY - Neither So Big, Nor So Lovely C40 Flesh Candy (a.k.a. Aris Stathis) breaks Phase!'s cherry on almost digestive, almost noise-free, pop music w/ his Dutch immigrant cut-up electronica blues. And it is a hard fist up in the air (and in the behind) 'cause i can't really recall the time i've enjoyed that much of a 'straight' record. Dance yourself off to the daft-punked leftism, take a breath w/ the haiku jingles and let the bloodshed roll on the underground dancefloor as this debut full-length from a long time –even before its beginning– Phase! associate and blood brother urges you to. |

PHR-93 HAMMER OF HATHOR - Saw Isosceles C40 A fine packer of a lost LP by United Staters, Hammer of Hathor, a boy-girl duo of many faces + talents. They mainly shred guitar and bang drumskins on this one in a very primitive way and we-don't-care attitude. The result not only flirts w/ atonal punk and heavy jam energy but repeatedly fucks w/ the brain of the non-music listener. The unconventional way of instrument approach amplifies a universe of electrical guts purely captured with analog and monophonic equipment. |

PHR-92 WHAM JAH - Heads CDR A powerful jam burner -identical of the recent Wham Jah shows- divided into four chapters. Free-form instant song-making drowned in a noise/jazz reverb valley full of zombie ravers. Prequel to the forthcoming full-length and the split LP w/ Balinese Beast. Stream the entire disc below! |

PHR-91 PUTSUM - Afro Black Metal C60 Three Putsum live performances which took place between late 2011 and early 2012. He proved that Vlad Tepes Dracula was a vegetarian using a caustic reference to reality TV, shouted that Black Metal is not a caucasian-male exclusive benefit, and ressurrected Christ to a fucking zombie, which is something more rational, by the way. The Putsum performances stand between conceptual art, arte povera and punk actionism but the music itself has something else: the unique blended sequence of a madman's mind. You might not get the whole picture, but you are surely getting another view of this great project! |

PHR-90 Angels in America - Greecings Caesar C60 An hour-long definite "Angels..." collection consisted of live action, outtakes and other experiments. "Greecings Caesar" might be the best introduction, if you're not familiar w/ the dark, mystagogic saga of these youngster's duo but be sure to check all the other recordings of them at FMA. Every single release (tapes on Ecstatic Peace!, Digitalis and Night People, LP on Ehse Records plus a split tape w/ Weyes Blood on Northern Spy) is somewhat perfect! Merv Glisten and Moppy Pont serve sentimental harshness at its best. |

PHR-88 beaTol & the Eagol - Ολντ Σκουλ CDR Killer debut full-length from Thessaloniki based boy/girl duo w/ 60 minutes of material, 33 songs entirely based on samples! PHR-87 ΤΟ ΔΥΟ ΕΥΡΩ - Το Βασίλειο του Χοντρού CDR They have already gained a critical acclaim in the (way deep) underground and we can surely say they will eventually make a fan club soon. The very first recordings of To Dio Evro (a.k.a. Horistra in vocals / chant / prose and Paranychis in musical accompaniment), the enigmatic transexual lo-fi power duo are presented here under the title "Kingdom of the Fat". This is where they all started! |

PHR-84 This double cassette set surely is an original early 10's Athens' artefact. Two solo projects, Angelos Kyriou & Ktriria ti Nyxta (Buildings at Night), completely diffrent from what we've heard till the negative urban space has thrown them up, they redefined music with greek lyrics. Angelos' side offers a typical example of his spastic, obsessed, sincere miniature song-marathon collage while Ktiria delivers a thunderstorm cut-up of -sometimes bootleg- recordings of friends' conversations blended w/ the signature hi-pitch electronic mayhem. The two 5-minute sides sound like a dream radio station. The one we've all wished to exist, the one we're pretty sure will never happen. |

| PHR-83 BIG BLOOD & THE WICKED HEX - LP A stunning new album including 5 long jams (23 minutes each side) which balance perfectly between the homey "Strange Maine" sound, the collage aesthetic of "The Grove" and the extraordinary singer/songwriter approach as heard on "Dead Songs". If it wasn't released by Phase!, it would certainly top a position in the 2011 TOP-13 albums! |

| PHR-81 DJ MISTAKES - 1-sided LP
“DJ mistakes are two exercise bicycle driven turntables fabricated and ridden by Casey Farnum and Elliot Hess. This project re-introduces spontaneity into the DJ experience and asks how production and industry have assembled to create a listening experience quite different from the hand-cranked turntables it was initially borne from. With a shrug to the practice of crystallizing performances and their reception through vinyl and the audiophile entertainment- center this project re-introduces human touch into the listening experience. It looks back nostalgically to a time when gears and bicycles were the stuff of aural and physical revolutions. Yet it also seeks a contemporary framework in the DJ era where cutting and mixing revolutionized production making it both unpredictable and live. Bikes, turntables, gongs, a mixer, records, and a microphone all mash in this recording live from the Chicken Hut and 1086 Broadway, Brooklyn NY 2006-7.” Phil Schapp, 2011 |

AD065 WHAM JAH - Alkaline C25 "Wham Jah can perhaps be represented as a haunting episode of rock and roll. “Alkaline,” the latest release by the 'zombie rock' group, applies modernity to the jazz/rock fusion but with an industrial noise-punk flair. Hailing from Athens, Greece, it broods, glooms, and attacks. The intense guitars, the heavy-hitting drums, the squawking saxophones and all of the other effects conjures a great and aggressive sound." -Ray Jackson, Already Dead Tapes, 2013 |

Ranstock02 SLICING GRANDPA - Untitled 7" Low vibration americana. Three tracks of previously released Grandpa goodness (from long gone tape and cdr editions) that begged for vinyl treatment. The raunchy boogie stomp menace of Grandpa IV, the hedonistic early-industrial vibe of Fuck You and the epic slow burner Falling On Grace that channels a underwater bridge from Berkeley to Port Chalmers. Each gatefold photocopy cover features two different colourized paste-ons. Labels are hand written and drawn. Every Little Skull Dude is a new experience. One time edition of 150 copies. |

DTTR 031 DEAD GUM - Doubleganger CDR Dead Gum is the solo project of Panagiotis Spoulos (other projects of his include: Reverse mouth, Wham Jah, Postblue, and running Phase! Records), from Athens, Greece. This past summer we toured with Dead Gum in Greece and we were blown away every night. Doubleganger is quite a journey, the constant thread seems to be loner style electric guitar that feels like the end of it all … quite, desolate, brutal, noisy, and 100% sincere. Handmade screen printed Art work by Colleen Kinsella (10 songs – 38 minutes) |

TIME-LAG 051 BIG BLOOD - Dead Songs CD Much anticipated proper full length release from this wonderful maine duo after a long running string of self released cdrs & a collaborative 7inch with visitations. colleen kinsella & caleb mulkerin have been key personages of the portland / south portland sonic underground for over a decade, as members of cerberus shoal, threads, fire on fire, etc. while those groups have no doubt left an impressive body of sound, the intimacy and directness of their big blood recordings take things to a higher plane of personal expression, freed from the group mind / “serious” band trapping of their past musical outlets. here they are free to romp in their personal microverse, following whim & fantasy through the gates of acoustic transcendence. all of the off-the-cuff spontaneity, intimate home fidelity, and deep personal charms of their older releases are as present as ever, but the the duo’s scope is now focused to a crystalline clarity of vision. dead songs is as sorrowful & joyful in its mirrored symmetry as the infinite life cycle itself, flowing on cleansing waves of inner release & spirit absorption… wailing fuzzed-up garage folk anthems mesh into twisted poetic acidfolk and drift to expansive melancholic meditations of boundless depth. two voices howl, swoon, alternate & join, lyrical layers peel away endlessly, tiny amps weep in pain, crude percussion booms thunderous, and ragged, beautiful hooks unfurl straight out of the void… packaged in an identical mini-lp style gatefold cover with clear varnish overprinting & offset printed vellum insert. first pressing of 1000 copies. |
